Weird Weather
The weather in North Texas is interesting. It’s some weeks late, but Memorial Day 2020 was not only as early as it could be (the 25th), but it was also the coolest Memorial Day I can remember – certainly for … Continue reading
Wacky Weather
It’s been a long time since I’ve done a weather-related post. After a dry January (defined as less rainfall than average), we had a record wet February — over four times the normal rainfall. This was followed by a dry … Continue reading

Time Flies
So, here at we at 2016; already in the second month, and nearly half-way through. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Happy Valentine’s Day! Here in North Texas, it’s been unseasonably warm. I had such a good time over Christmas (I … Continue reading

Full!
On Sunday, 26 Apr, Lake Lavon was 100% full at 492.0 feet. Since the rain started in early February, the lake has risen every day except one. This has been an amazing and unforseen (by the water people) event.

Weird & Wacky Summer

Stupid Water Policy
Where I live, and in most of North Texas, we are under the control of the North Texas Municipal Water District. Starting about a year ago, we’ve been under drought restrictions as far as the use of water goes. But … Continue reading

More weather records
In case you cannot tell, I’m interested in weather topics <grin>. I was doing some research yesterday, and the summer of 2011 (that finally seems to be ending, God be thanked!) set other records. August 2011 was the warmest month … Continue reading
Record!
After the hot August, it was wonderful weather the week of Labor Day – in the mid 80s during the day and in the 50s at night. After such a blistering July/Aug, it felt great! But, it was not to … Continue reading
Hot August
August is over — we didn’t break any absolute records, but we do have several unusual things about this summer. This is the first time in one summer that there are TWO streaks of consecutive days over 100 degrees. The … Continue reading
